Former Newberg School Board member Warren Parrish passed away on Wednesday, June 11th, 2014 in a Phoenix, Arizona hospital. Parrish served on the Newberg School Board from March, 2001 through June, 2009.

"I appreciated his sense of humor, his deep caring about things that mattered, and his work on the school board, " said board member Melinda VanBossuyt. 

Jim Chogyoji recalled his service to the community and Parrish's efforts to recruit him to serve on the school board.

Newberg Mayor Bob Andrews added that "Warren was always well informed and a gentleman his dealings for and with the City.  I know that many local musicians will miss his 'beat'.”

Services for Parrish will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28th at Newberg Christian Church, where he was a member and his father was a former pastor. The family requests that  in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Wi-Ne-Ma Christian Camp, Cloverdale, Oregon.
