A team of Mabel Rush students in grades 3-5 will have an opportunity to participate in the Oregon Battle of the Books this year. Here's a message from Principal Lisa Callahan and a list of the books you can start reading now.
Dear Mabel Rush families,
I hope you are having a wonderful summer! I am excited to tell you that we plan to have a Mabel Rush team participating in the Battle of the Books contest this year!
Students will have the opportunity to work with coaches at our school during the school year to prepare for the competitions.
We encourage students to begin reading the books this summer since there are A LOT of books to read! Battle of the Books teams tend to have students on them who become "the experts" in answering questions about the books they have read on the list.
Listed below is the list of titles for the 2014-2015 Oregon Battle of the Books. We will have these books available for check out in our school library this fall however we definitely encourage students to get a head start on reading them this summer!
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Lisa Callahan,
Mabel Rush Principal
