Incentives
Stickers – December 1 through January 23 is the timeframe for students to earn Round #4 sticker. Round #3 sticker was awarded on Tuesday with blue sticker students enjoying a Jem 100 sundae during lunch on Friday if they had their ID card with the blue sticker affixed.
Homework Coupons – New homework coupons, which expire on January 23 (the end of the semester), were distributed during Math classes on Monday. Students who were absent on Monday can stop by the Office for their new set. Wednesday, we collected the last round of homework coupons during lunch and students received a treat.
Movie Trip Incentive – Be on the lookout for permission slips next week as they will be distributed to students who have earned the Movie Trip Incentive for having no late work from October 20 through December 5. There is a short turn around for permission slips. The Movie Trip will take place the mornings of December 16 (6th graders), December 17 (7th graders) and December 18 (8th graders).
Planners – As an incentive to have students use the planners they received in September, Mr. Masenhimer randomly stamped twenty-nine planners on the December 6th page. Today, students who had this stamp, took their planner during a passing period to Mr. Masenhimer and were rewarded with a donut.
Lunch Rotations
Mtn. View has three lunch times and every 12 weeks or so, lunches rotate so everyone experiences the different times. December 1 was the first rotation. Students who had 1st lunch now have 3rd; 2nd lunch now has 1st and 3rd lunch now has 2nd. The next rotation takes place in early March. If you’re wondering lunch times, Mtn. View’s bell schedule is posted on the MV Website under the Parent Resources tab.
Music is in the air
It’s the season for concerts!
*The first performance was on December 3 at Washington Square for Mtn. View’s Choir.
*December 9 is MV’s Holiday Concert with songs from our Intermediate and Advanced Bands, Choir, Beginning Strings and the MV/CV Advanced Strings groups.
*December 16 our Jazz Band and Beginning Band will perform.
*December 16 the MV/CV Advanced Strings will be playing at the CV Holiday Concert.
Lost and Found
Mtn. View’s Lost and Founds, across from the Office and in the Commons, are growing. When Winter Break arrives, items left in the Commons Lost and Found will be donated to charity. The Lost and Found across from the Office is rotated once a month.
MV Giving Tree
Thank you to everyone who has taken a tag from the MV Giving Tree for the Newberg Toy and Joy program. If you are still interested in donating and are not able to grab a tag from the tree, click here for gift suggestions. Please send the unwrapped gifts to the Counseling Office by December 12.
MV Webstore
Did you know that you can purchase PE shorts and shirts, sweatshirts and sweat pants, 8th Grade Celebration T-shirt, Art and Science Exploration class fees and yearbooks online at the Mountain View Webstore? You can also check to see if a student owes money for any of the above items as well as MV instrument rental and Lego Robotics. If you decide to purchase or pay for any items on the Webstore, please be aware there is a processing fee.
EFriday Folder and other Events.
Mabel Rush is having its 3rd annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, December 6 from 10 am to 4 pm.
Find information regarding the Tiger Cub Cheer Clinic taking place on Saturday or CPRD Boxing for Fitness class on the EFriday Folder.
