Emma Allen's painting voted Best in Show at Pac-8 Art Show

Emma Allen’s painting was voted Best in Show by high school art teacher at the “Pac-8 Conference Art Show” at Hillsboro High School on March 4th. Entries by 15 Newberg High School students marks the firs time Newberg has participated in the show for all Pac-8 metro area high school.
The juried show featured work from five Pac-8 high schools. Professional artists judged 75 entries; teachers and students also voted on art work. Newberg students earned the following awards:

  • Emma Allen – Painting, 1st place, Best in Show
  • Clara Pugsley - Graphic Arts, 2nd place
  • Reina Soumokil – Pottery, 2nd place
  • Reed Allen - Graphic Arts, 3rd place
  • Kyra Reigh - Graphic Arts, Honorable Mention


Students had a great time and left with some inspiration to finish off the remainder of this year, according to Ian Reynoso, Yellow School art teacher. Reynoso, Stashia Cabral, Dan Evonuk and Teri Sprando teach fine arts at Newberg High School.
