Mr. Langdon's Lowdown

Over the Memorial Day Weekend, I got the opportunity to go camping.  It is one of my favorite things to do as it allows me to unplug, it keeps me from working, and it allows me to reflect.  As I reflected over this school year, I found myself full of gratitude   William Arthur Ward said, “Feeling Gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it”  I am so grateful for many things here at Dundee Elementary School.

Thank you to our awesome staff.  All year they have worked to make your children successful.  It is a complete team effort.  Whether staff is responsible for cooking the lunches, mowing the grass, teaching a class, answering phones, or many of the other tasks that need to be done, we are all in our jobs to make your children grow and be the little people we know they can be.

Thank you to all of our students.  It is our kids that get us up in the morning, eager to go to school.  We love them all and appreciate the different personalities and qualities each brings.  Each student makes our school a better, more interesting place.    A special thank you to our amazing 5th graders who will be leaving us this year.  We will greatly miss this class.  We are so excited to see the great things they accomplish.

Thank you to our parents and our community.  It has been wonderful to see you at our events this year.  Whether it is volunteering, coming in for a music program or following us on social media, we love having you be a part of our school.  We all have a collective responsibility for the education of Dundee’s children.  Thank you for being part of our educational process.

Lastly, I want to thank all of the above for allowing me to be the principal of this school.  Someone asked me recently how I liked being the principal as compared to being a teacher.  I replied with, “It is better than I ever thought it would be.”  I love being the Principal of Dundee Elementary.    I have enjoyed sharing our successes and working through our problems.   While I know this time of year leaves some looking forward to summer, I am already looking forward to next year when we get to do all of this again.
