12 Days - 12,000 Books

Mabel Rush Elementary collects 680 books for Holiday Book Drive in first 2 Days!  Mabel Rush Elementary leads the county for the most donations to a single site 2 days into the Reading for All Holiday Book Drive. Teaming the book drive up with their annual Beavers vs. Ducks canned food drive has been a stroke of inspiration by Principal, Shannon Stueckle. According the office staff, the boxes are overflowing and with one day left in the competition, they anticipate seeing an even larger amount coming in tomorrow!

The Reading for All Holiday Book Drive, 12,000 books in 12 days, continues through December 12th. Requested is donation of new or gently used Children’s books (babies through high school), books in English, Spanish and both languages. Collection locations for Newberg include: Mabel Rush Elementary, Antonia Crater Elementary, Dundee Elementary, Edwards Elementary, Ewing Young  Elementary, Joan Austin Elementary, Chehalem Valley Middle School, Mt. View Middle School, Newberg Urgent Care, Newberg Public Library, The Coffee Cat, Chehalem Cultural Center, The Kelly Group, Blockbuster Video, Nap’s Thriftway, St. Peter’s Parish, Newberg Christian Church and West Chehalem Friends Church.
