I hope Spring Break created some nice family time for you. I didn't do anything but recharge my batteries (which means a little beach time, shopping time, and lunches with friends).
Conferences are soon upon us. The district recently altered our conferences times so teachers are quickly getting reorganized. They sent home conference requests to those parents they really need to see during next week's conference times. If you did not receive a notice and seek a conference time with the teacher please call the office, 503-554-4450, and we can find a slot for you. There are not enough conference times to meet with every family, but we will do our very best to meet your needs.
The 3rd grade performs their science-based music performance at 11:30 on April 19th. We know it's difficult to get away during the middle of the day, but we'd love to have you join us if you can.
Next Thursday, April 12th, Bruce Arnold has organized a Chess Tournament for players of all ages. This is a great opportunity for our students who love Chess. It will be at Crater with an 8:45 sign-in and should run until noon. If you have questions, contact Bruce Arnold at brotherbruce@hotmail.com.
Okay ......... I'll ask one more time.............. does anyone want to supervise our Chess Club? It can meet before/after school any day that works for you and we have all the materials. It just takes someone who is willing to supervise and get it organized by levels -- the kids do most of it. Please call me if you want to talk it through.
David Slater will be here tomorrow as our guest author. He has published numerous books on our library shelves and will present to each grade level tomorrow in the library. We love to have authors come inspire young writers with their writing process, publishing, illustrating, and joy.
