It's Teacher Appreciation Week across the nation. Jennifer Duckworth has created a Teacher Appreciation Taco Bar Luncheon for the staff and I know numerous parents have jumped in to help her. THANK YOU for all your generosity and kindness. If your child has a special teacher in their life you might encourage them to write this teacher a note, color them a picture, write a poem, etc. It is these tokens of love that mean the most to staff.
The Carnival was such an amazing hit! I don't know who beat me out of golfing at Salishan, but I would volunteer to fill in should it be necessary. I take 9 on every hole so you wouldn't have to worry about me beating you.................... More on the Carnival in a future e-mail -- I want to make sure to thank all the key players, but didn't Christine Marks and Sue Wong bring incredible leadership to this event?
Wow, the master calendar is incredibly busy with OAKS testing coming to an end, fieldtrips weekly, year-end music performances, Outdoor School, and a science celebration later this week. The school year doesn't wind down, it winds up!
May is the month that parents are invited to outline any feedback they would like considered in making placements for 2012-13 classrooms. Feedback must be in writing and submitted by May 25th.
Our current character trait of focus is "empathy." We're helping students understand how it feels to walk in the shoes of others. The kindergartners have led us in song as our Wednesday morning assembly highlight. Our next trait (and last one of the year) will be self-discipline.
