We've hit our rhythm! We're through most of the school-year "start-ups" and only have the required safety drill events to go (that will be next week, Thursday). Classrooms are humming and routine is setting in -- it feels GREAT.
Last year we didn't have either a Chess Club or a Scrabble Club. We'd love to get either one going again if there is a parent who would like to supervise. We have the materials and certainly have student interest. Please let me know if you would like to give it a try.
Our first Parent Coffee is this Friday. It's always the first Friday of every month from 9:00-10:00am in the library. I bring the coffee and those that attend bring the conversational topics. Please consider joining us!
A huge THANKS to Jeanne Schuback and her capable team of Kristen Davidson and Christine Rodgriguez for their outstanding Lion Walk leadership. The event was well-organized and fun for all. We're hoping that donations fly through the doors this week. The Parent Group will accept donations whenever they come in, but they need to be in by this Friday, Oct. 5th to count toward prizes.
Student pictures came in today. If you don't care for the pictures and want them retaken, return the packet on Picture Retake Day, Oct. 26th. If you missed the opportunity to buy pictures you can do it on the 26th as well.
Mark your calendar. There is no school on Friday October 12th due to statewide teacher inservice, It's the one day of the year when teachers meet from all over the state for content meetings or training.
Now that everyone in our school has a Lion Walk t-shirt, please have your students show their pride by wearing their t-shirts every Friday this year. The Parent Group plans to periodically honor classrooms with the most students in t-shirts! Go Lions!
