Hello Mabel Rush parents! It's March 1st and I'm listening to the lawn mowers as I write this! Here's some news of the day:
Please be reminded that we have set up a "right turn only" into our parking lot so that all traffic will enter traveling south on Deborah. We worked with the city to change the parking and signage to allow this to happen in an effort to help Mabel Rush parents avoid tickets for impeding traffic flow.
The Student Council voted yesterday to sponsor Wacky Hair Day (a Mabel Rush favorite) -- it's scheduled for March 22nd.
If you find yourself craving some excellent music and want to expose your children to an outstanding pianist with a gift for talking to kids, consider attending the Michael Allen Harrison concert this Saturday night (tomorrow) at the high school auditorium. You'll never see him for a cheaper ticket price (adults $10, kids $5), tickets are available at the door, and ALL proceeds go to the high school drama department's trip for their performance in Scotland.
March 4-8 is Classified Employee's Week!! If you have a student that appreciates the cooks, custodian, recess supervisors, Librarian, or secretary you might have them write them a note of appreciation. If you have a student that works with Coach, or any of our staff in the LRC, ELL program, ILC/PILC, Homework Club, or Speech, a homemade card of appreciation would feel wonderful. We love this team that supports both students and staff!
The Hygiene for the Homeless drive ends next Friday, March 8th. This high school Senior Project has turned into a popular event and we appreciate the donations for Newberg Homeless Youth.
It's time to enjoy the daffodils!
