Dear Mabel Rush Parents,
We are off to a running start this year. It was great to meet so many of you these last few weeks and your children are amazing! I have very high expectations for them this year and I have no doubt they can meet and exceed them.
Thank you to everyone who has also already been in our building volunteering in classrooms, working with students, working here in the office, and at our events. We have a great staff here at Mabel Rush and your help is absolutely vital and very much appreciated!
Our PIE group met this past Tuesday night. Officers were elected to positions, events and event dates were discussed, and new parents found out about the great things this organization accomplishes for our school. That very next day, PIE members were working in our school, submitting facility use forms (approved by me today) and quickly moving forward on various projects. I expect we will see great things from this organization this year! If you haven’t joined this parent group yet, please know you definitely still can.
Thank you to everyone for helping us keep our children safe at arrival and dismissal times. Your dedication to observing the procedures, driving slowly, and continuously watching out for children is greatly appreciated. Safety is our top priority. Thank you for supporting that priority and for being so flexible and patient as we adapt to using our new doorbell and visitor ID system.
This Friday our students begin our annual school fundraiser THE LION WALK. Students will be bringing home information on getting pledges, due dates for turning in monies, and how they can win prizes. The Lion Walk event will be held at the NHS track on Friday, September 27. MANY volunteers are needed for this event and parents are encouraged to join in and run alongside their children during the event.
