Dear Parents,
Today Mabel Rush students completed a series of safety drills including a lockdown drill with the Newberg Police Department. These were all practice drills designed to teach our students how to respond in difficult situations. We are pleased to say that you can be very proud of your children. They took ownership for successfully participating in the drills, demonstrated they knew exactly what to do from their classroom practices earlier this week, and they remained calm and focused on following the teachers’ directions. We were very impressed by their maturity and their common sense. We also want to thank the Newberg Police Department for assisting us in our drills today. They had great things to say about how well our students and staff did!
Please let you children know you heard they did a great job today. You have many reasons to be proud of your children and this is just one more of those reasons.
