SCRIP PROGRAM Info

Dear Parents, Family, Education Specialists and Friends of Mabel Rush,
As the Holiday’s approach I would like to introduce you to the SCRIP program. This program allows our school (nonprofit) to purchase more than 100+ gift cards as well as certificates from local businesses (Abby’s Pizza, Jem 100, Pogy’s and Dolphin Car Wash) at a discount rate, benefiting Mabel Rush P.I.E. (Partners in Education). Each business designates a percentage that they are willing to donate. Gift cards are purchased for the same amount as their value. The percentage that the business designates is money that is earned for Mabel Rush P.I.E. which in turn helps fund, Art Literacy, Field Trips, Assemblies, Outdoor School, Technology, Teacher Requests and many more activities. This is the best fundraising program because you just buy what you normally do and it in turn helps fund extra activities for Mabel Rush students.
In addition to all of the participating vendors we also have the opportunity of special promotions throughout the year. They are listed below:
Columbia Sportswear supports the SCRIP program by including a guest pass for family and friends. This pass allows you into the Employee Store where the prices are generally up to 50% off Retail. Columbia also sells Mountain Hardwear, Sorel and Prana. If you do not see what you would like in the store simply go to a kiosk in the store and order online (those item ship for free). This pass also gives you an online code for a separate shopping experience (there are shipping fees). Or you can give the code to a friend.
You can purchase as many gift cards as you would like as supplies last. I suggest buying multiple amounts and keeping the gift cards ($50.00 value) but sharing the passes with friends for their own shopping. This pass is a generous gift from Columbia Sportswear. For every pass sold our school earns $6.00.
The Chinook Book helps you save money at local businesses that do good things for the environment and the community. This book is similar to the entertainment book in that it has coupons and discounts for local businesses such as Burgerville, Cinetopia, Grocery Outlet, New Seasons, Whole Foods, Columbia, Circuit Bouldering, Portland Rock Gym, Oil Can Henry’s, etc. The books are available in paperback for $22.00 and an app for $15.00 . Mabel Rush PIE earns 50% from either option. These are available until December 15th order.
If you would like to participate simply fill out this attached form and turn it into the office in person or send it with a student by 10:00 am Tuesday morning. If you do not have time to fill out a form you can text/email me an order as long as payment is received by Tuesday’s order date (12/1, 12/8, 12/15). Orders will be filled by that Thursday.
