First graders have recently become lunar experts. Students have been studying the earth’s patterns, which includes the motions of the earth, moon, and sun. Did you know the moon has phases, and is described as waxing and waning? These are very old English words. Waxing essentially means "growing" or expanding in illumination, and waning means "shrinking" or decreasing in illumination. First graders have been “waxing” their technology skills by creating electronic books on their school iPads with a book creator app. Look out! That rascally Gingerbread Man is back, running everywhere and causing havoc. Students are having a ball trying to help Gingy cross the river in their very own custom designed boats. First grade sure does sound fun and filled with awesome learning! Next up, students will be conquering the number line!
