December 4th-17th- Elementary and Community Performances
*December 4th-'Simply Christmas' Performance times are: 3:30pm Intermediate Band; 4:00pm Advanced Band
*This is the Civil War football game day. May not happen if game is near performance times.
December 6th Monday-CVMS Beginning Band Holiday Concert 7:00pm. Students in Beg. Band perform a Holiday Concert in the Gym with punch and cookies after the concert.
December 9th-Advanced Band Field Trip Advanced Band plays for the Senior Luncheon at Newberg Christian Church and then plays a concert at Crater Elementary.
December 14th-Students from the combined Intermediate Bands play a concert at Ewing Young, Dundee and Edwards Elementary Schools Students will be out all day from school.
December 17th-Intermediate and Advanced Bands play with the Ochestra and Choir for an AM Assembly for the CVMS students body.
January 12th- Intermediate Band Instrument Exchange Concert -6:00 PM
Students in Intermediate Band teach each other their instrument and then give a “dinner” concert with Dominos, Salad and Cookies after the performance. Cost is $3 per person or $10 for the family.
January 20th- 5th graders from all Newberg School District elementaries come in to try out instruments. 6:30-8:00 PM. Students can get a jump-start for next year. This is a new event that will be a good follow up after the elementary visits from the Intermediate Band.
January 29th- North Albany Middle School Jazz Festival
Advanced Jazz Band only
March 10th- Winter Concert- CVMS Gym
Beginning Band, Intermediate Band, Orchestra and Choir Performance. 7:00 PM- students need to be here at 6:30 PM.
March 15th- Advanced Band Festival Concert- 7:00 PM- HS Auditorium.
April 22nd- OSU Middle School Concert Band Festival- Advanced Band only
May 3rd- Chehalem Valley Band Festival at GFU
Advanced Band students perform (8:00 AM) then organize and run the festival throughout the day, Student need to be at Bauman Auditorium from 7:20 AM- 5:00 PM.
June 7th- Final Band Concert
All Concert Bands- Beginning Band, Intermediate Band and Advanced Band as well as both Jazz Bands will be performing.
Concert Dress
The Play-A-Thon concert will be jeans and the band T-Shirt. All bands will receive their band T-Shirts the day before the play-a-thon.
Advanced Band and Intermediate Band students need to have black pants with a long sleeved button down dress shirt. Ladies can have a nice white top that is not a button down. Ties will need to be worn for all festivals and festival concerts. Dark Shoes- no flip flops or white tennis shoes.
Beginning Band will be performing in nice school clothes.
The final concert is a Pops concert. All students can be dressed in either jeans or shorts with the band T-Shirt.
