For the past 29 years, Chehalem Valley Middle School and Wadayama Middle school in Asago City Japan have experienced the best kind of global education exchange. Once a year, students from each school visit their sister school, participate in a homestay program and immerse themselves in a different culture. The original program goal was to develop greater understanding between Japan and the United States. After years of cultural exchange, the Wadayama Exchange Program remains one of the most long-lasting and engaging global exchange programs in the region. This program is open to 7th and 8th grade CV students. Students are selected by an application process. Teacher Heidi King oversees this exchange program.
