commons. If you cannot make any of these dates and would like to meet with one of your teachers please do not hesitate to contact them. With Edline, we are finding that parents are finding less of a need to meet because they are always in the loop.

Be Safe Be Respectful Be Responsible
Our first Activity Day will be held on November 5th. Students that meet the criteria of zero behavior referrals, less than 4 tardies and no missing work will be able to attend a number of activities offered through out the building. Activities include a dance, games in the commons, outdoor games (weather permitting), baking, crafts, computers, movies, and much much more!
School Spirit
School spirit is alive and well at CV. Today was the 3rd week of spirit month and today kids and staff showed their spirit by wearing CV gear, and CV colors. I have been so impressed with the kids on all of our dress up days. Last week we wore pink in support of the fight against breast cancer, and the week previous to that was twin day. Next Wednesday will be our costume day!
Learning Targets
This year every classroom and every teacher is starting their lessons with learning targets. Learning targets can be summarized as a "measurable, manageable, made first and most important objective for each lesson." It is our goal as a school that every student know exactly what it is they are supposed to be learn during each classroom lesson. If you enter a teacher's classroom, the learning targets are evident as highlighted by blue tape. I encourage all of you to ask your students whether or not they felt they met their targets each day in class.
Have a great weekend!
