Happy Friday to all of you and Happy Halloween!
Parent Conferences
We wrapped up conferences last night and I was pleased with the parent turn out. Thank you to all who came out. As always it was fun seeing some old faces as well as visiting with our new families.
Spirit Month
This past Wednesday marked the end to our spirit month. I have to say that the kids did an outstanding job following all of the school rules during the dress up days. I was particularly impressed with their behavior during costume day on Wednesday. Not only were the costumes creative, but they were all well within our school guidelines. Nice job CVMS students!
Be Safe Be Respectful Be Responsible
November 5th will be our first Activity Day for students with zero behavior referrals, no missing work and less than 4 tardies in the 1st 9 weeks. Students that fall within this criteria will get a choice between a dance, outdoor games, indoor games, crafts, a movie, computers, baking, and more. Students that meet the criteria will also get the 2nd installment of the student body sticker allowing them early access to their lockers in the morning, early out to lunch, and early dismissal on Fridays.
Thus far for the year our attendance percentage has been right around 96% which is outstanding. Our goal every year will be 97%. Last year we were around 94%...nice job!
State Testing
In November we will begin our first round of state testing. The state allots each student three opportunities to test and we will maximize these opportunities. Each year we have school improvement goals centered around reading, writing and math and we are excited about this next opportunity to meet and/or surpass these goals.
Progress Reports
Next week we will be mailing out progress reports. I want to reiterate that the grades you will be receiving are indeed progress reports and not final grades. Final 1st semester grades will come out in January.
