Blue on 2 Day
Today was Blue on 2 Day!
Students and staff wore blue in support of anti-bullying. Our next Blue on 2 Day will be January 4th. We will try for the 2nd school day of each month. Please join us in our fight against bullying.
PBIS Lessons
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, our staff engaged students in dialogue concerning what it means to be safe, respectful, and responsible and re-iterated our school rules and focus on anti-bullying. As we head towards Winter Break the students have a tendency to be more active during this time thus it was a good reminder. Our next installment will be after the break.
Holiday Concerts
Next Tuesday and Thursday from 7-9 PM we will be having two music concerts. On Tuesday our beginning band will be playing and on Thursday our choir, advanced strings, and intermediate and advanced bands will put on a show.
Toy and Book Drive
We will be beginning our annual toy drive on Monday. Our goal is to bring in 600 toys for those less fortunate. Students that bring in toys will automatically be entered into a raffle for prizes. Thank you in advance for donating toys!
Yamhill County is also sponsoring a book drive from December 1st-12th.
CV Semi-Formal
We will be having our first semi-formal dance next Friday from 7-9 PM. Students must attend school on this day and also must have zero referrals and less than 4 tardies since the start of the 2nd quarter.
Absences
Please be cognizant that we are extremely vigilant in regards to attendance. The following is the list of reasons the state provides as excusable absences:
-Student illness
-Illness of an immediate family member
-Emergency
-Doctor/Dental Appointment
-Death of an immediate family member
-Court summons
-Satisfactory arrangements, made in advance with the school for other reasons

If you are looking to volunteer for the school please contact Mary Reohr at reohrm@newberg.k12.or.us. We currently have volunteer opportunities in our after school homework club, and in our classrooms.
After School HW Club
Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 PM. A late bus is provided.
