Happy Friday to All of You!
Anti-Bullying
Today the students were treated to an assembly on bullying. Deputy Roy Harrell from the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office spoke to the students on various types of bullying.
He also addressed things that students could do to stop bullying on multiple levels. On Wednesday we all wore blue in support of Anti-Bullying. We called the day "Blue on 2" (The "2" signifies the 2nd of the month). As a school this will be our regular monthly routine on the 2nd of each month. Please join us in wearing Blue on the 2nd of each month in support of anti-bullying.

Wolf Reading
I wanted to update all of you on Wolf Reading. As you know, our students and staff have been engaged in a 25 minute silent reading period every Wednesday. From all accounts, many students and staff alike have found this period beneficial. I can't tell you how many people have approached me expressing appreciation for the allotted time. I have also found the time useful, and have utilized this time to read two books: Water the Bamboo by Greg Bell and On Common Ground by Robert Eaker, Richard DuFour, and Becky DuFour. If you want to know what our teachers are reading please stop by and see our bulletin board outside the library. Our purpose for the creation of this period is to demonstrate to our kids that reading is important and that we are all life long readers.
7th grade writing
Our 7th graders are currently engaged in taking their writing state assessment. The students get two weeks to complete the assessment and they are taking it very seriously.
