Mr. Franco's Friday Folder June 14 2013

Mr. Franco

Happy Friday to All of You!

Wow! It is hard to believe that we are finished for the year.  This will be the last Friday Folder this school year with us starting up again in September.  Enjoy your summer!

8th grade celebration
Yesterday we celebrated the moving on of our 8th grade students at our 8th grade celebration ceremony.  It was a beautiful ceremony.  Awards and certificates were given out, the kids looked great, and the excitement and pride on the faces of the students and families was evident.  Thank you 8th graders for doing a great job this year and good luck to you in high school!

Go to CV's facebook page to watch our 8th Grade Memories video on youtube.

Final Grades
Final Grades will be mailed out next week.  The 2nd semester grades are an average of 3rd and 4th quarter grades.

Parting Words
I want to take a moment to say thank you to all of you for your support this school year.  This year we persevered through a significant number of changes  including proficiency based grading, facility changes to our Science/Art classrooms, and Common Core National Standards.  Along with these changes there was a seemingly endless barrage of student and family tragedies.  Through it all, we made it, and our student achievement was clear, as seen through our performance on grades and state assessments in Reading and Math.  As always, it was fun teaching your children.  They all made us smile, they challenged us, and once again, provided us with another year of memories.  Thank you!

So, as summer is upon us I wish you a safe, happy, fun and rejuvenating time.  To those of you moving on, we wish you well.  To those of you who are coming back, we can't wait to see you again.

Have a great summer!
