Mr. Franco and student

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
We will have our 2nd installment of PBIS lessons next Tuesday during 1st period. The entire school will be reminded of our school expectations of Being Safe, Being Respectful and Being Responsible. In September our kids were treated to a great video that was made with our students, and this time around we will all be playing PBIS jeopardy.

Toy Drive
Our annual toy drive will begin on Monday and last through December 10th. Students that bring in new toys will receive a raffle ticket and be automatically entered into a drawing for many prizes. The toys will be donated to the Newberg Fire Department's Toys for Joy drive. Leadership has organized many activities for the kids to participate in all week.

Civil War Sock Drive
If you are interested in bringing in socks to donate for those less fortunate Ms. Conley is holding a Civil War Sock Drive. If you are a Beaver or a Duck and have new socks to donate please do not hesitate to bring them in. As of today, the Beaver fans have donated the most socks.

Wolf Reading
Wolf Reading will begin next Wednesday. The kids definitely know what is happening and are excited about the prospect of Wolf Reading. I'm disappointed however at the lack of excitement about potentially having me as their Wolf Reading Teacher:)

In the classroom:
Ms. Boles: Math bowling...this was a great thinking game where individual classes were competing with one another. I suggest you talk to Ms. Boles and ask her to play sometime.
Ms. Murchison: Ms. Murchison's kids were reading and scoring state anchor papers to help give them a frame of reference on the expectations regarding the state writing test. After wards they were very intrigued with how they performed on their district writing test.
Ms. Conley: Ms. Conley's kids were up and moving working on solving math problems by drawing diagrams.
Ms. Williams: Ms. Williams' kids were doing their current event reports. Witnessing the students' knowledge on what is happening in the world, but more importantly, to hear their perspectives is really powerful.

Hope all of you had a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
