Parent Conferences
The end of the quarter will be on November 8th. Parent Conferences will be on November 8th from 4-8 PM in the Commons. We will also have parent conferences on November 9th from 12-3:30 PM and 4-8 PM in the teacher classrooms. Please continue to check Ed-line
noting your student's progress.
English Language Learner Audit
On Monday we had a visit from the Oregon Department of Education. Our visitor was charged with conducting an audit of the services we provide English Language Learners. I'm happy to report that we did very well as did the district. Our migrant and English Language Learner populations have achieved significantly over the past few years making adequate yearly progress in reading and math.
Absences
Please be cognizant that we are extremely vigilant in regards to attendance. The following is the list of reasons the state provides as excusable absences:
-Student illness
-Illness of an immediate family member
-Emergency
-Doctor/Dental Appointment
-Death of an immediate family member
-Court summons
-Satisfactory arrangements, made in advance with the school for other reasons
Last year our attendance was close to 95%. We are looking to surpass this percentage this year.
Parent Volunteers
If you are looking to volunteer for the school please contact Mary Reohr at reohrm@newberg.k12.or.us. We currently have volunteer opportunities in our after school homework club, and in our classrooms.
Spirit Week
Our spirit week begins on Halloween! After Halloween our Leadership class has organized some dress up days and fun activities for the students to participate in. Let's show our CV spirit!
