Mr. Franco's Friday Folder October 7th, 2011

Mr. Franco

Happy Friday to All of You!

Blue on 2 Day
We had our first blue on 2 day of the year on Tuesday. On Tuesday, staff and students wore blue in support of anti-bullying. The

students made pledges to "Make the Difference" against bullying during 1st period and we have posted these individual pledges around the building. You can see these student pledges on individual paper wolf heads posted in the cafeteria and in the front of the office. Blue on 2 day will be on the 2nd school day of each month.

Magazine Drive
A volunteer parent collector for the magazine drive told me that they are "running out of prizes." I hope this is a good sign as we try to reach our goal of $15,000. If the kids raise $15,000 then they will earn a hat day. If they raise $20,000, then Mr. Hampton and I will allow the students to pick our outfits for the day. Please no Beaver gear!

No School Next Friday-Teacher Non-Contract Day

Parent Volunteers
If you are looking to volunteer through our PTO, or in a teacher's classroom please contact PTO president Mary Reohr and reohrm@newberg.k12.or.us.

After school buses on Mondays, Tuesday, and Thursdays
Late buses will be running every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of each week. We do this to allow students an opportunity to stay and receive help with their homework. We are also offering homework club in the library. For some students, we are requiring that they stay after to get extra help and for others, it is voluntary. If you would like to learn more about HW club or bus routes please do not hesitate to call our front office.
