In the News: Kids Doing good Stuff Raising Money for Nepal
NEWBERG, Ore. – A group of sixth graders launched a multimedia campaign that is raising money for earthquake relief efforts in Nepal.
The Chehalem Valley Middle Schoolers are making a large banner of peace flags, inspired by the traditional Tibetan prayer flags.
They are also making t-shirts, organizing a plant sale, planning community public speaking events and a school-wide assembly, and partnering with local businesses like Burgerville.
All the money raised by the students will go to Nepal relief efforts through Medical Teams International – a relief organization in Portland.
The project runs through Friday. You can find out more information online, and when the students visit the KATU News studios Thursday morning at 6:35AM
