Today we said farewell to Angela Kantz as she joins the Newberg High School staff as their Attendance Secretary.  We will miss her and wish Angela the best of luck on her new position!  Cheryl Verret, who has been at Newberg High School will be starting at Joan Austin Elementary on October 23.  Ms. Verret brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our staff.  She is excited to become a member of our Joan Austin family.

Coffee with the Principal – October 26 - 2:30-3:00 pm. 
Through building relationships with our principal in a more informal setting, we hope all parents have the opportunity to learn more about decisions in the school and have a voice in shaping our path as a community.  Join Principal Carter on October 26 from 2:30-3 pm in the Library for Coffee with the Principal. We look forward to seeing you!

Thank you to our Parent Group for the wonderful lunch during conferences.  We appreciate you!

School Pictures
School pictures went home on Tuesday with picture retakes on November 14.  If your student is having retakes, please send the picture packet with them.  If your student was absent on picture day, they will have their picture taken on the 14th.  

K-Kids
K-Kids is an elementary school service club open to 3-5 graders under the direction of the Newberg Kiwanis Club who will help with service projects around school and our community.  The first K-Kids meeting is October 25 at 9:00-9:30 in our Library.  If your student has not submitted their application, they can do so until the 25th.

Attention 5th Grade Parents
Fifth Grade parents, please join the 5th Grade teachers and Mrs. Carter on Thursday, October 26 from 6:30-7:00 pm in the Joan Austin Cafeteria to discuss Outdoor School fundraising, chaperone needs, student contract, and general information.  See you there!

Café con la Directora – 26 octubre - 2:30-3:00 pm Biblioteca Escolar
En un marco informal con la directora, esperamos que todos los padres tengan la oportunidad de aprender de las decisiones en la escuela y tengan una voz en formar nuestro camino como una comunidad.

Las Fotos Escolares
Tendremos el Día de Re-sacar las Fotos el 14 noviembre. Si su estudiante necesita una nueva foto (incluyendo si estuvo ausente el dia de fotos original), favor de mandar el paquete de fotos.

K-Kids
K-Kids es un grupo de servicio para estudiantes de primaria, debajo del cuidado de Newberg Kiwanis Club, un grupo de servicio en la comunidad. La primera junta es el 25 octubre a las 9-9:30am en la biblioteca. Se acepta las aplicaciones hasta el 25.
