October Conferences
On Friday, October 23rd there is no school. There are afternoon conferences this day. The conferences on this day are only for students who the teacher is requesting a parent conference with at this time. If your child's teacher does not request a conference, and you would like to meet with them, please contact them. They may be able to fit you in on this day or find time to meet with you during their regularly scheduled office hours each week.

Principal Coffee (virtually)
The next virtual Coffee with the Principal is October 13 from 6-7 pm.  Mrs. Bailey will discuss the results of the Parent Survey (please see above) and have a Q & A session. We hope you will join Mrs. Bailey on 10/13.

Nutrition Services
Newberg School District has several ways for students to get meals. If you are interested in receiving meals, you will need to sign up for them.  If you are interested in free/reduced meals, please make sure to enroll for that separately. *The meals are delivered Wednesdays (which include breakfast and lunch for three days) and Fridays (which include breakfast and lunch for two days).

*Please note that October 7th is the only delivery for the week of October 7th due to State Inservice Day on Friday October 9th. The Wednesday delivery will include 4 meals.

*There is a new “open site” for picking up breakfast and lunch. This does not require any prior sign up. Anyone with children ages 1-18 who has not signed up for meal delivery can stop by Newberg High School from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays to pick up breakfast and lunch.

Immunization Clinic
Are your student’s immunizations up-to-date?  Does your family want flu shots?  This year’s Newberg School District Immunization Clinic is November 6 from 1:00-4:00 pm at Edwards Elementary’s Cafeteria and is by appointment only.  Please see the attached for information on who to call to set up an appointment, what to bring, payment info and more.   

Tech Help

Conferencias en octubre
El día viernes, 23 octubre, no hay clases. Vamos a ofrecer conferencias a sólo los estudiantes que la maestra siente que las necesiten. Si la maestra de su estudiante no solicitaba una conferencia y le gustaría tenerla, favor de contactar a la maestra. Puede programar una cita durante sus horas de oficina o talvez durante el día 23.

Los Servicios de Alimentación
El Distrito escolar de Newberg tiene varios modos para los estudiantes a recibir comida. Para más información, y inscribir su estudiante(s) en las entregas de alimentos o en el programa de comida gratis/reducida, haz clic el enlace https://www.newberg.k12.or.us/district/nutrition

*Se entregan los alimentos los miércoles (incluyen el desayuno y almuerzo para tres días) y los Viernes (el desayuno y almuerzo para dos días)

*Favor de notar que el día 7 octubre es la única entrega de comida debido al Día de Entrenamiento estatal el viernes, 9 octubre. La entrega de miércoles incluirá 4 cenas.

*Hay una “Ubicación Nueva” para llevar el desayuno y almuerzo sin inscribirse. Cualquier persona con niños entre las edades de 1-18 que no están inscrito para las entregas puede pasar por Newberg High School entre las 11:30am-12:30pm los miércoles y viernes para desayuno y almuerzo.

Clínica de inmunización
¿Están actualizadas las inmunizaciones de su hijo? ¿Quiere su familia las vacunas de la gripe? Este año el Distrito Escolar tendrá una clínica de vacunas el día 6 noviembre entre las 1-4pm en la cafetería de la Primaria Edwards, es se necesita una cita. Favor de mirar la hoja adjunta para cómo programar una cita, que debe traer, el pago, y más.

Si su estudiante está enferma durante Aprendizaje Integral a Distancia (CDL)
Su alumno despierta enfermo y no puede asistir sus clases. ¿Qué debe hacer? Favor de notificar a su maestra y Becky Brenner brennerr@newberg.k12.or.us por correo electrónico.
