The Rotary Club of Newberg (Early Birds Foundation) has gifted Joan Austin Elementary over $3750 for the purchase of new books and storage bins for our Book Room.  The Book Room is for teachers to access book sets for students at all reading levels; either for independent practice or small group reading.  Our Book Room was in great need of an update since it has always been supplied through donations of old book sets from other schools or through teacher purchases.  Many of our books sets were falling apart or missing books.  The donation of the Rotary funds has allowed us to purchase a total of 942 new books and sturdy bins to store them in!  Teachers and students are excited about the many new nonfiction book sets that have been added!  Please join us in thanking our Newberg Early Bird Rotary Foundation for their very generous gift to help our JA students succeed and enjoy reading!
