Recap: You Count, Your Steps Count Challenge

Wow we have quite a bit of excitement these past two weeks.  It was down to the wire for some teams to get their steps in.  Everyone was really active both weeks!!!!  Congratulations!

Week 2

The challenge was the school that walked the most steps (with weight given to smaller schools to even out the playing field).  My math brain is challenged this week and I have not come up with the formula to make this calculation.

SO our great math teachers out there:  can you send me a formula that will even out the playing field?   I need a handicapping number.  Email me at Popem@newberg.k12.or.us and I can give you the number of employees in each building.  I will post these numbers and honor these schools also.  But until that happens and without any further ado these are the raw numbers:

The site which walked the most step based on the numbers of teams and their recorded steps:

  • In third is:  Mountain View Middle School with 5 teams tracked 1,923,931 steps
  • In second is:  Antonia Crater with 6 teams tracked 1,989,505 steps
  • And in FIRST PLACE leaving the competition in their dust is: The High School with 7 teams tracked 2,656,375 steps
