Mr. Milners' Weekly Message

Happy Friday Ewing Young Parents:

It's been a busy week here at school!  I wanted to thank the parents who were able to come to our parent budget forum yesterday.  Many great ideas were brainstormed by parents that will be shared with school district leaders as we look for solutions to make significant cuts to our school district budget.  Parents had a chance to share what in our school and district they would like to KEEP and STOP.  Also, parents had an opportunity to share ideas to save money, or bring in additional revenue that our district should START doing.

I'll leave this feedback information in the office for parents to look over.  If you have ideas, please send them in and I will be sending this off later next week.

Thanks to our fundraisers, we've added some new games for the kids to play during recesses.

Spike Ball has been a big hit for our older students!  We've also taught the rules of some more traditional games (4 Square; Wall Ball; Knockout) to help focus our students on playing the games correctly, without disagreement.

EYST Meeting Next Tuesday (3/13) at 3:30:

Our March EYST meeting is coming up next Tuesday, March 13th, after school (3:30).  Wildwood Playgrounds will do a short presentation and share their proposal of some new equipment to add to our play area.  I'll also share some information about school safety with parents.  I hope you are able to make this meeting.

Spring Book Fair Here Next Week:

Our spring "Book Fair" is happening this upcoming week!  I'm seeing lots of great books for kids to select from.  Our EYST Parents will also be hosting a "Grand Event" on Wednesday morning, where students can share their school with a grandparent or special friend- maybe visit the Book Fair too!  The "Grand Event" begins at 8:00 am and finishes up at 9:30.

If you have any questions, or concerns, feel free to contact me via email, or by calling 503-554-4754.

Enjoy the weekend and week ahead.
