Important dates for 8th grade parents to know as their 8th grade student's year winds down.  Check often as dates may be added or changed.

March 9
Newberg High is gearing up to welcome the class of 2019 with their Incoming Freshmen Night to be held on March 9 from 6-8:15pm at NHS.  Complete with a curriculum fair, presentations on important information and right before they forecast for classes for next school year, all incoming freshmen and their families are strongly encouraged to attend this fun and informative event!

March 10
Newberg High School staff will be forecasting with our 8th Graders during the school day.

March 18
NHS is having a Forecasting Help Center on March 18, from 5-7pm in the West Commons of NHS.  You are welcome to attend this evening to get support if you have questions..  

March 19
Ninth Grade Forecasting forms are due in MV's Counseling Office no later than noon on March 19.

April
All 8th Graders participating in the 8th Grade Celebration will be wearing their royal blue keepsake Celebration t-shirts which they receive during 1st period on June 11.  During the first part of April, students who have paid for the t-shirt will be called to the Office for sizing.  If your student hasn’t been called to the Office, please pay $10 for the t-shirt by April 30 so we can call your student to the Office for sizing..  This can be done in the Office or purchasing it online at Mtn. View’s WebStore.  Why do we need the payment so soon?  In order to receive the t-shirts in time, the order will need to be placed by May 1.  http://www.newberg.k12.or.us/mountainview/mvms-webstore 

June 8
For your student to participate in the 8th Grade End of Year Trip and/or receive their purchased Yearbook, fines for lost textbooks, lost library books, instrument rental, Science Exploration or Art fees will need to be paid.

June 10

June 11
Because the last day of school is a full day this year, things are a bit different for 8th graders.  Mountain View’s 8th Grade Celebration and 8th Grade Trip will be on the same day. The schedule for these two events are:
8:15 am – approximately 9:15 am – Mtn. View’s 8th Grade Celebration in the MV Gym
9:30 am - 2:4 5pm – 8th Grade Trip to Bullwinkles - students will board the bus immediately after the 8th Grade Celebration.

Information regarding Mtn. View's 8th Grade Celebration:
     *Because 8th Graders will be receiving their 8th Grade Celebration t-shirt during 1st period on June 11, please have your 8th Grader report to school like any other school day.         

     *Seating is available for parents and grandparents who would like to attend this event.

     *Parking can be tight.  There is limited parking in Mtn. View’s Parking Lot as well as street parking.  If you do park on the street, please respect our neighbors by not blocking their driveways.  Parking is available in the NHS Tennis Court Parking Lot.
