Nominate
Each year the Newberg School District presents the Crystal Apple award to an outstanding school employee. If you would like to nominate a teacher, a principal, an assistant principal, classroom staff helper, cafeteria person or secretary, an application form is available online or in the Office with a May 22 due date.
Lost and Founds
Not only are there Lost and Founds at MVMS, but there is one at the Bus Barn too! If your student rides a bus and is missing something, try the Bus Barn (aka First Student Transportation) located at 1000 Commerce Parkway in Newberg.
MV Food Drive
Next week we will be holding our MVMS Food Drive with a competition between lunches. The winners will rock out during their lunch! The Staff will be getting involved too! If the Staff wins, they will be picking the music played during lunch. Should be a fun food drive!
The Oregon Food Bank is looking for: canned meat, canned and boxed meals, peanut butter, canned or dried beans, pasta, rice, cereal, canned fruit and 100% fruit juice.
MV Parent Group
The April MV Parent Group minutes are posted! Catch up on the latest news.
The MV Parent Group is selling spirit wear. T-shirts and/or sweatshirts can be ordered online or by picking up an order form in the Office. Please return orders to the Office by May 1. Delivery should be two to three weeks after May 1.
The Color-A-Thon is in full swing and the first turn in was Friday. Students submitted their Green Steps to Success slips during lunch and were entered be one of 10 lucky winners who get to start the Color-A-Thon Race! The other two turn in dates are April 24 and 30.
When you register your student, it will ask for a teacher name, please enter your student’s 7th period teacher.

This Week
Over 400 ID cards were updated with Round 5 stickers on Monday. Any Round 5 sticker student who had updated their card and had it with them on Friday, were treated to a donut.
Old unused homework coupons were turned in at lunch time on Monday for a treat.
The April Spirit Day took place on tax day, April 15! Wacky tacky was the theme…there were some pretty wacky tacky outfits and hair!
8th Graders were reminded to purchase their 8th Grade t-shirt before May 1. Information about this and other End of the Year items for 8th Graders can be found here.
