Mtn. View’s Conference Schedule
Mtn. View Fall Conferences will be held on the following dates:
*Wednesday, October 29 from 4-8 pm arena style in the MV Gym
*Thursday, October 30 from 11:30 am - 3 pm in Teacher Classrooms
*Thursday, October 30 from 4-8 pm arena style in the MV Gym
What are arena style conferences? All teachers will be set up in the Gym with a few exceptions (a list will be available of these teachers at Conferences). We will have signs with teacher’s names next to the teacher. Chairs will be set up for waiting parents in front of each teacher.
Do I have to sign up for conferences? No, all conferences are on a first come, first served basis and we ask that you limit your time to 10-15 minutes per teacher as other parents are waiting. If you require a longer session, please contact the teacher via email to request a meeting with them.
Do I need to bring my student? That is up to you. What would be good for you to bring is a list of their teachers. Not sure of the teacher’s names? If you haven’t signed up for ParentVue, this is a great time to sign up and access your student’s schedule. Contact Renee Martinez at martinezr@newberg.k12.or.us for a ParentVue activation code.
There is no school on Thursday, October 30 and Friday, October 31.
MVMS Fall Book Fair
Wednesday, October 29 and Thursday, October 30
The Mountain View Parent Group is hosting the Fall Book Fair to support the Library. The book fair will be open on Wednesday in the morning, at lunch and after school for students to look and shop. The book fair will also be open during conference times. Scholastic accepts cash, checks and credit cards. If you are interested in the exact times of the book fair and possibly volunteering please read on.
If you like heavy lifting and decorating, then please join Heather Harrison on Wednesday morning, October 29 around 7:15. If you like interacting with the students during meal times, we can use your help with streamlining the checkout process as well. If you are attending conferences and have time to volunteer that would be great too.
On Wednesday, after set up, the book fair will open at 8:15am for students to view and purchase books until 8:35am. It will also be open during the lunch periods from 11:40am to 1:15pm, after school 2:45 - 3:15pm and then during conferences from 4:00 - 8:00pm.
On Thursday the book fair hours will follow conference times. It will be open from 11:15am (which is 15 minutes before conferences begin) to 3:00pm and then from
4:00 - 8:00pm.
Anytime you can volunteer that is convenient for you would be helpful and appreciated. No experience is necessary. It’s a fun way to interact with the students and support the library.
Heather plans on attending all of the Book Fair hours. If you have questions or would like to volunteer, please email Heather Harrison at g_harrison@frontier.com Don’t despair if she does not get back to you right away as she will be on vacation from
10/21 - 10/28.
NHS Football Game Tonight

New this year: all 6th graders must have 2 HepA immunizations while all 7th graders must have 1 HepA. An Immunization Clinic will be held at Edwards Elementary in the Cafeteria from 3-6:30pm on Wednesday, November 5, if you’d like to attend. This clinic is offered by Yamhill County Public Health. If you do attend this Clinic, please bring:
*the most up-to-date shot record so the nurses may assess shots needed
*A parent/guardian must accompany students under the age of 15.
*If the student is covered by insurance, a card must be presented for billing purposes.
*Each immunization will cost $21.96. Payment arrangements may be made. No student will be turned away for inability to pay.
Whether you attend the Clinic at Edwards Elementary or your own doctor for immunizations, please send in the shot record (dated and signed) to Renee Martinez, in our Counseling Office. You can send it with your student, fax to 503-537-3337 or email to martinezr@newberg.k12.or.us
