Below are the Enrichment Classes being offered for

Entrepreneurship...or Create Your Own Business
(Mr. Alpert)

Do you have an awesome idea that you know other people will love? Want to open a restaurant someday? Have an idea for the next tech gizmo that will blow the iPhone out of the water? Learn how to develop your idea and "sell" a business plan to possible investors.

Travel and Explore (Ms. Buck)
Ever dream of traveling to far away, exotic places?  Want to know what it will take to get there?  Sign up for Ms. Buck's Travel and Explore class and plan your adventure!  You will learn about the country you want to visit -- when to go, what to see, how much it will cost, what to pack, the country's history and current events. Make your travel and exploration dreams a reality and start planning now.  

Basic cooking skills/easy snacks (Mrs. Holden)
Learn basic cooking skills to be successful and safe in the kitchen such as knife safety, meal planning, nutrition, and the science of cooking. We will create tasty and healthy snacks that you can make at home as well.

3D Printing (Mr. Long)
Ever wondered how things were made with a 3D printer?  There are countless hours spent on a computer going over the drafting of a simple image.  We can make cubes, spheres, logos, helicopters, flowers....you name we can make it.  Sign up if you are interested!

Spanish (Miss Holman)
Have you ever wanted to learn about a new language? If so this class is for you. This class offers a basic overview and will give you the basic communications skills needed for this language. Not only will you learn about the language and basic communication skills, you will learn about the amazing culture(s) associated with the language. 

Beginning Guitar (Mr. O’Doherty)
Students would learn the basics of guitar.  How to tune and read chord charts and also basic blues.  Students would learn some basic music theory and be able to accompany themselves with one or two simple songs.  We will get into playing right away.
NOTE:  Students must bring a guitar to class.  Guitars will not be supplied.

Wildcat Pride II (Mr. McLay)
This class will focus on generating flyers and signs that the Wildcat Pride I class needs.  Be ready to focus on beautifying the school.

Drama (Mrs. Swayne)
Have you ever wanted to pretend to be someone else?  Be crazy one minute, serious the next, and then switch to another character all together?  Here is your opportunity to become an actor.  We will act out scenes, conduct improvs, and much much more!  Learn how to be a moviestar!

Drawing Basics (Mrs. Wells)
This introductory drawing class will explore the fundamental elements of drawing and introduce students to new forms of media and technique.  Symmetry, 3-dimensional drawing, shading, perspective, texture, and color techniques will be the main elements taught through a series of fun projects! 

Lego Robotics (Mr. Gallagher and Mrs. Hanson)
Learn to program, build, and compete with robots!  You will have direct access to Lego robotics hardware and software, a computer for your use and the sky is the limit! This class will progress at whatever pace is comfortable for you and we will have competitions for fun and prizes all along the way.  Learning the engineering and programming aspects of these robots can also set you up for higher level classes in high school and potential scholarships to college. Please come ready to learn!

The Business of Beauty-Cosmetology (Mrs. Brown)
What does it take to be in the business of beauty?  How do experts create a business around hair, makeup and photography?  Local adults will come and share their experiences of creating their own businesses in cosmetology.

Comics and Graphic Novel Workshop  (Mr. Allen)
How do writers and artists mix words and pictures to tell stories? We will look at what makes comics a special form of art, what types of comics are common and not common, and how comics are published. We will learn the basics of comic making and create some of our own. Drawing skills are not required, but creativity is a must-have!

Study Hall  (Mrs. Raz)
Do you need time to sit and do your homework?  This class is for students who are wanting time during the day to sit quietly and work on school work.  

Smash Book (Miss Mickus)
Get ready to create your own work of art – a Smash Book! Think of it like a scrapbook and a journal "smashed" together. Create pages filled with photos, notes, poems, souvenirs, doodles, stickers, stamps -- anything you can think of that can be "smashed" into a book that's all about YOU!  Techniques include: graffiti, zentangle, collage, coloring, crafts and lots more.

Intramurals - Floor Hockey/Team Handball (Mrs. Converse, Mr. Reynolds and Mr. Stockner)
Are you a CHAMPION? Come prove yourself. Intramurals have finally arrived at MVMS. Competitive floor hockey and team handball are your two activities this quarter. Intense, fast paced, and competitive games everyday along with tournaments to determine a CHAMPION for each activity.  Bring your "A GAME"

Woodshop Class

Woodshop (Mr. Rogers)
In this class students will learn how to use tools and build various wood projects. In the 9 weeks we will build 34 different projects.

Arts and Crafts Class

Handmade Crafts (Mrs. Topf)
Make your own crafts to take home for yourself or to give to others for gifts. Let out your inner crafter or pinterest self! Use your artistic abilities to make your own designs! Make stuffed animals, cards, ornaments, bracelets and more!

Music Video

Make Your Own Music Videos  (Mr. Mallory)
This is a shout out to all you shower singers, mirror actors, and private dancers.  Music Videos. Need I say more?  This enrichment group will be selecting, arranging, singing, recording, and acting out together contemporary hit songs.  If you've been craving a larger audience than your shower head, mirror, or lonely living room walls, then this one's for you.

School Newspaper/School Blog or Battle of the Books

School Newspaper/School Blog or Battle of the Books (Mrs. Jin)
Be the voice of Mountain View school by helping create a student run publication.  Explore topics that interest you and the rest of the student body and see your work published online and in print through a school blog and newspaper.  Let your voice be heard!  And/Or  Use this period to read, discuss, and prepare for your upcoming battles for Battle of the Books participants.
