Thank you to the team and volunteers who orchestrated another successful event for our students! The February Dance was a success!
*Upcoming Events:
April 1st – Dance – information forthcoming
April 22nd – Game Night – We considered opening up hosting games to either grade-levels or enrichment groups. We can get BINGO loaned if desired.
March 18th – Jump, Shoot, and Run – we will need volunteers on the day of this even to collect pledge money from the students and help run the event.
May 5th – Cinco de Mayo Event – meal and Mariachi band, family activities
May 14th or 21st – Fun Run – change of course, have left-over color from last year that we can meet together to bag up.
Discussion:
Dance/Event Committee Needs: we would like to set up a clear checklist of all of the set-up required for the events. For example, we need a list of all items to be requested (ie, lights, rooms) before the event can get started. We will discuss this with Anita and set up a system.
We propose starting a Student Body Government in the future. We hope to allow the students leadership experiences, and will discuss with the administration the possibility of holding elections and having an enrichment class focused on developing a student government.
Fundraiser Ideas for next year: We will have the donation form available at all back-to-school events. In addition, we will run a popcorn/treats fundraiser in the Fall. This fundraiser is run by another company, and purchases can be made in a second wave in time for the winter holidays. We also hope to run a holiday wreath sale.
ASPIRE: Please continue to refer students who are in need. No donations are currently requested, but we will keep you updated as the year progresses. Thank you for all of your generosity!
Finances:
We need to set up a meeting with Michelle Paton to determine the proposed requests for next year, as we would like to set up goals and budgets before the year starts. We hope to have events on the calendar at the start of the year. The current budget report is attached.
We would love to see you at the next parent meeting! We are eager for input of parents representing all grade-levels of students at our school. Thank you for your support!
