Welcome 5th Graders and Parents! We are excited to see you for the 2013/14 school year. But first, we'd like to make you aware of a few important dates.
February - Choosing 6th Grade Electives - forms will be sent home with your 5th Grader for you to review, sign and return to your student's 5th Grade teacher.
Late Spring - MVMS Assistant Principal, Scott Murphy, visits 5th grade classrooms to explain the MVMS behavior incentive program and help establish an incentive for finishing out the 5th grade. Late Spring - 5th graders tour MVMS - MVMS counselors and principals take the students on a tour of Mtn. View during the school day.
May 29 (this is a change in date from earlier communications) - 5th Grade Orientation from 7-8 pm. During this evening visit at MVMS, staff members will share a variety of information about some of the differences you and your student will find at the middle school. In addition to a general session packed full of important information, you and your student will have the opportunity to tour the building, practice opening lockers, meet staff, get answers to questions, learn about needed immunizations, discover opportunities to volunteer, enjoy refreshments, and much more.
Late August - 6th Grade BBQ from 5-8 pm. This is a “don’t miss” event that has replaced our Back to School Night. At this event, you can take care of things before school starts such as: Fees, PE Uniforms, Edline, Mtn. View Parent Group, Yearbook, Lunch Money, Medical Releases, Schedule and Locker Assignment, School Supplies, Bus Barn, CPRD Sports, Meet Teachers. This event will make the first day of school less intimidating for everyone
