About Catalyst

Our Mission:

Newberg Catalyst provides a unique learning environment designed to meet the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of adolescents who, for many reasons, have not flourished in traditional educational settings.

Our Vision:

Newberg Catalyst seeks to break the patterns of failure, rejection, and isolation that characterize many of our student’s lives. The program will emphasize positive personal relationships between students, staff and the community. Students will work toward success using an Education Plan and Profile. Unique features of the program will include small class sizes, service learning, internships, blended learning, whole group instruction, independent study, and credit by proficiency.

Rather than going by semesters or trimesters, Catalyst goes by learning cycles. There are 6, 6-week cycles per school year.
