Boeing Portland opens up Tech Prep for students, apply today!

On Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Boeing Portland, Boeing will host a Tech Prep open house.  This open house will give you an opportunity to visit their training facility and see what Tech Prep student development is about.

The Tech Prep student development program is for high school students who may be interested in a career in manufacturing. 
At the start of tech Prep in June, the applicant must be 16 years or older and have completed the junior level in high school. 
Must register for the open house on or before February 24th as security cleared is required to attend.

Quick facts about the Boeing TechPrep program:
Tech Prep is a 3 year PAID program, starting upon completion of the junior year in high school. 
Year 1 : 4 week program for 40 hours/week focusing on individual skills on drills, mills, and lathes.
Year 2: 4 week program for 40 hours/week using a manufacturing process as a team to produce a rocket boat to meet customer requirements.
Year 3: 7 week long program for 40 hours/week job shadowing professionals in a variety of manufacturing processes, along with interview and resume training. 

How to apply? 
You must have just completed your junior year in high school with a GPA of 2.5 and be at least 16 years old by the program start date.
Complete and submit an application to Boeing on or before the application deadline. No late entries are considered.
Boeing interviews will be scheduled for the selected applicants.
12 interns are selected each year.
Each intern is evaluated annually for continuation in the program.

The deadline to mail or hand deliver the application is APRIL 14, 2017
