Chamber seeks nominations for students who contribute to the community

Nominations are open to select an outstanding student to be honored as “Junior Citizen of the Year” by the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce. This award recognizes a student in grade 8 – 12 who has made outstanding contributions to the community.

To be considered for the Junior Citizen of the Year Award, the nominee must have a minimum “C” grade point average and demonstrate outstanding citizenship. The nominee’s achievement should be something that contributes to the betterment of the community, sets and example or encourages participation of others. Recognition may be given to service which is continuing or associated with a one-time project of significance to the community.

Nomination forms are online and available at all middle and high school offices and at the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce. All nominations must be received at the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce, 2119 E. Portland Road,  office by January 5, 2017. The Junior Citizen of the Year will be recognized at the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce annual awards banquet on Friday, February 17, 2017.
