FFA competitors advance to state

Newberg FFA members found success with public speaking skills at sectional competition held yesterday at Newberg High school. Ten NHS students finishing in first or second place qualified to compete at the state level at the FFA state convention at Crater High School in Central Point/Medford later this month.

Results are as follows:

• Creed Speaking - 4th place - Austin Babcock
• Beginning Parlimentary Procedure Team - 1st Place - Ian Burgess, Tia Piscitelli, Sierra Drill, Chelsea McConnell, McKenna Seaton, Trevor Piller
• Advanced Parlimentary Procedure Team - 4th place - Sam Morland, Kory Blake, Alaena Wilfong, Aaron Morland, Brennan VandenHoek, Nick Grill
• Job Interview - 4th place - Ben Fleming
• Beginning Prepared Public Speaking - 1st place - Trevor Piller
• Sophomore Prepared Public Speaking - 1st place - Aaron Morland
• Advanced Prepared Public Speaking - 1st place - Alaena Wilfong
• Extemporaneous Public Speaking - 2nd place - Kory Blake
