FFA tops at Oregon Envirothon

Newberg FFA students came out on top at the Oregon Envirothon last weekend. The FFA team of Kylie Holveck, John McCarthy, Tyler Bostock, Kennedy Rainey, and Todd Halleman placed first in the FFA Division and second place in the overall Oregon Envirothon. The team also earned first place in the enviromental issues practicum. The first place win qualified the team to compete in the National FFA Environmental and Natural Resources contest in Indianapolis, Indiana in October 2017.

Newberg's freshman team placed second among beginning teams and includes Emma Mabry, Sawyer Huffman, Simon Luedtke, Ryan Harber and Parker Woomer

NHS teachers Bailey Fields and Pete Siderius coached the FFA team. Siderius coached the Freshman Team.
