In The News: July 8 school briefs

Locals make honor roll at OSU

Oregon State University released its honor roll for the spring term and many locals were recognized for either earning perfect 4.0 grade-point averages or posting a GPA of 3.5 or better.

St. Paul students Jaimee Brentano (agricultural sciences) and Kennedy Smith (human development and family science) were among the 3,571 students to post a 3.5 GPA or higher, as were Dundee students Dylan Hinson (bioengineering), Matthew Olney (pre-civil engineering) and Alvin Yu (pre-bioengineering).

Jordan Bremmer, also of Dundee, posted a 4.0 in human development and family science.

Six Newberg students also accomplished that feat, including Anthony Farr (pre-medical engineering), Daniel Green (mathematics), Andrew Halstead (athletic training), Marjorie Halstead (nutrition), Jennifer Meissner (French) and Kevin Rothe (pre-business).

Also honored for posting a 3.5 or better were Newberg students Gabriel Acosta (civil engineering), Lisa Barnard (human development and family science), Caitlin Berger (pre-bioengineering), Kevin Ernst (pre-public health), Monica Farr (psychology), Katherine Hick (zoology), Jacob Kaufman (biochemistry and biophysics), Madeline Lee (digital communication arts), Charles Palmers (sociology), Brandon Reams (food science and technology), Leanne Sherry (electrical and computer engineering), Amanda Steele (human development and family science), Andrew Tautfest (exercise and sport science) and Cassie Weber (biology).
