NHS Principal candidate forum open to community

Parents and community members have an opportunity to meet the candidates for the Newberg High School principal position at a forum on Thursday, February 27th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in the West Commons at Newberg High School.

Superintendent Kym Leblanc-Esparza announced the three finalists for the position. They are Stafford Boyd, Yellow School principal; Jon Franco, Chehalem Valley Middle School Principal; and Mark Risen, principal at Henley High School in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

There were eighteen applicants for the position. Eight candidates were interviewed by a school stakeholder committee and senior staff and narrowed to three finalists.

The three finalists will make a brief presentation and respond to audience questions. Those attending will have an opportunity to provide feedback on each candidate to Superintendent Kym LeBlanc-Esparza. Candidates will also meet with the high school staff and students.
