Portland Community College to offer Art Welding Sculpture class at Newberg High School. Open to all!

Starting March 31, PCC will host an Art Welding Sculpture class here at Newberg High School.

Develop your knowledge of oxyacetylene welding and explore metal sculpture design and construction. No prior welding experience required. Supply list and more info: www.pcc.edu/staff/shona.yardley15. 

This is a self-paced class. If you have no previous welding experience, you can expect to spend some time learning the very basics. The length of that learning process varies greatly from individual to individual. You'll work on a series of class projects that will help you learn these skills. Once you've learned the basics via class projects, you can start to work on a personal project. The instructor will help you plan and execute the project. It's wise to start small and then take the class again and progress to larger projects. Students must wear protective eye wear and attend mandatory safety orientation at first class.
