Richardson and Whitmore recognized

Christine Richardson and Patty Whitmore were recognized for outstanding service to education at the Newberg School District’s 11th annual Crystal Apple Awards at the close of the school year.

Patty Whitmore, special education assistant at SILVER School, holds special needs students to high standards while supporting their efforts to achieve them according to colleagues. Well liked and respected by students and staff, Patty frequently takes an advocacy role for students, staff and community.

Christine Richardson, Green School language arts/social studies teacher, continues to push herself to hone her skills, learn new ways to engage students and share her talents said colleagues. At the end of Christine’s class, students know how to read, write and think at levels they never anticipated say colleagues.

Parents, students and colleagues nominated school employees and recipients were selected through a judging process that included teachers, students, parents and community members.
