Russo heading to Stanford

NHS will make its presence known at Stanford University next year as senior Peter Russo heads to Palo Alto, CA to wrestle for the Cardinals. Peter signed an official letter of intent on Tuesday November 15 at the Caffal Center, a step closer to achieving his dream of wrestling at the collegiate level.  Head coach Jason Borelli is excited to add Peter to his roster saying,  "Peter fills a big hole for us in the lightweights, so getting him was a really big pick up".

Not only does Peter have an impressive wrestling resume which includes the Triple Crown of high school, freestyle and Greco-Roman state titles last year, but his academic achievements are equally impressive as well. Stanford’s academic reputation is well known and being accepted there academically is an achievement on its own.  "Applying to Stanford in general was pretty stressful for me," Russo said.  "Knowing that I got in there and that I can wrestle at the collegiate level is really exciting and I'm really anxious to get started."
