STATE CHAMPS AGAIN!!! Newberg Nation Cheer won its third straight state championship this past weekend at the OSAA State Cheerleading Championships posting a mind boggling 70.50 points on a 75 point scale! Now those are literally, and figuratively, some amazing Flying Tigers! Led by seniors Madisyn Beck, Allison Hagen, Abi Long, Rachel McWilliams, Chelsea Newman and Rilee Rosauer the team did an electrifying performance that was packed with high degrees of difficulty, up tempo pacing and radically quick movements with the crowd flying to its feet in recognition as our Flying Tigers tore up the mat! An assembly to celebrate their state championship effort has been set for Thursday, February 26th, at 9:05am in McGrath Gymnasium.
You can also help support NHS Cheer as they prepare to head down to Anaheim, California to defend their 2014 National Championship! All you have to do is go online to Facebook or Google and 'Like' and 'Comment' on the Newberg Dodge page. Newberg Dodge is willing to donate up to $10,000 if enough people Like and Comment on their page.

Internships are available at Newberg High School!
This is a great way to get started with a company that might lead into a paid position. Internships earn high school credit and also look great on college and scholarship applications. We have multiple positions available ranging from office work, retail, and museum tours to a senior activity coordinator. Please pick up an application from Ms. Peterson in the Silver School office.
There is a program with Providence Health System called Career Highlights. These are three hour mini courses focused on a specific health care career field. This qualifies as a Job Shadow needed for graduation. These events are on Saturdays and students need to provide their own transportation. Registration for March Career Highlights begins on Feb. 2nd and will be open until spaces are filled. The March Career Highlights include:
Note: There is still space in our Rehabilitation Services Career Highlight on Friday, Feb. 27 at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center from 1-4 p.m. Please encourage students and career seekers to attend this fabulous Career Highlight that will explore careers in physical therapy, speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, and audiology!

A Night To Shine
(and they did shine!)
Several Newberg Nation Flying Tigers had an early prom this year as they attended the Night To Shine event sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Held at the Newberg Christian Church last Friday night, it was a magical night filled with everything a wonderful prom has to offer. Tuxedos, flowers, make up and dancing the night away, several Flying Tigers got to have a great time on behalf of the Tim Tebow Foundation. Crab Feed& Auction
It’s fundraising time here in Newberg Nation and the Flying Tigers Boosters are in full speed to raise some dollars! The annual Crab Feed & Auction is scheduled for Saturday, March 14th, and many new auction items are being added to an already outstanding ensemble. But, in an effort to mention a couple of Newberg Nation happenings at the auction your very own NHS administrative team is donating a dinner for eight! They will cook, clean, serve and entertain, all in the name of raising funds for the school! Meanwhile, Mr. & Mrs. Risen have donated a crabbing trip on the Oregon Coast (with Activities Director Mark Brown coming along as 1st mate!), and you won’t want to miss this year’s Masters of Ceremonies for the event, Principal Mark Risen and Activities Director Mark Brown! If you know those two Flying Tigers this could get incredibly creative and will be hilarious to attend! Get your Crab Feed tickets now at any Newberg Nation sporting event,

FORECASTING FOR 2015-2016
Newberg Nation it’s time to start thinking about which classes you are interested in taking next year. Forecasting season is right around the corner and will run March 12-20.
Information will be available on our website beginning the week of March 2nd. Complete with a copy of the course catalog and forecasting sheets for each grade level students and parents will have access to those materials via our website.
Forecasting materials will also be handed out during advisories and at the middle schools beginning March 12 and there will be a Forecasting Help Center open to all students and parents on Wednesday, March 18, from 5-7pm in the West Commons. This will be a great time to get specific questions answered in a one on one format with counselors and administrators, especially those that have questions about dual credit, graduation requirements, Advanced Placement course questions and specific questions about organizing a schedule that will keep your student involved in co-curricular offerings yet meet their graduation requirements!
Our deadline for all forecasting sheets will be Thursday, March 19. Please have your student return their forecasting sheet to their advisory teacher by that time! We really appreciate everyone turning in their materials by that day so that we may begin building our master schedule for the 2015-2016 school year. Happy forecasting Newberg Nation!
Tiger Music
The Newberg Nation Wind Ensemble& Orchestra performed concerts this week with the Wind Ensemble welcoming Chehalem Valley and Mountain View Middle School Concert Bands to perform with them on Thursday night. Meanwhile, the orchestra concert on Tuesday night featured various solos that involved complicated performances and a very cool number by Bach! It was a wonderful evening of classical music played at its best by our very own Flying Tigers!
