All-Sports Physical Clinic and Barbecue Coming Up!

The Newberg High School Cheer Team strikes a pose back in 2022.

Families with student-athletes at home, please take note of this important event. All high school students who participate in sports, especially incoming freshmen, will want to know this.

What: The All-Sports Physical Clinic and Barbecue (for student-athletes)

Who: Offered by the Providence Newberg School-Based Health Center

When: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Aug. 9 and 10

Where: Newberg Public Health Center on the Newberg High School campus in Building K, 2400 Douglas Ave.

Cost:

Option 1: A Well Child Check will be billed to your insurance, and the Oregon Health Plan is accepted.

Option 2: It is $50 out of pocket (no cash accepted, card only), and financial assistance is available due to hardship.

Why: Student-athletes must have a physical to cover all sports for two years. Usually, students will take the physical as a freshman and as a junior. Student-athletes should remember that all sports registration must be completed during the week of Aug. 7 because the first official Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) practices begin on Aug. 14.

Note: There will be an open house and barbecue on Aug. 9, following the sports physical clinic. The barbecue will run from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Newberg School-Based Health Center.

Schedule an appointment during the clinic by calling the Health Center at 971-231-5855. Learn more about the Health Center on the school district website.

How to register: Visit the Fall Sports Registration site.
