As a public school district, Newberg Public Schools is responsible to its community, including students, parents, community members and taxpayers. The Board of Directors invited input from staff, students, parents, and community members to develop a new strategic plan. A strategic plan helps to guide the direction and focus the priorities of the district. The Board approved the new strategic plan on January 14, 2019.

Interim Superintendent Dr. Joe Morelock led more than 70 people through four Strategic Plan Development sessions which met on October 10, 17, 24, and November 7. At the first meeting, the group broke into seven small groups to brainstorm key goals, strategies, and ideas around seven different topics. The second meeting sorted and refined those goals and strategies and ideas.

The third meeting prioritized and grouped all the input into three key values: Enriching Student Experience, Stewarding Our Resources, and Cultivating Community partnerships. In the last meeting, small groups will have the chance to review a draft of the strategic plan, which include goals, an explanation for each goal, and strategies to achieve those goals. The feedback from those groups will be used to modify and adjust the draft, which will be submitted to the Board of Directors for modification and adoption.

El Superintendente Interino, Dr. Joe Morelock dirigió a más de 70 personas a través de cuatro sesiones sobre Desarrollo del Plan Estratégico quienes se reunieron los días 10, 17 y 24 de octubre y el 7 de noviembre. En la primera reunión, el grupo se dividió en siete grupos pequeños para intercambiar ideas sobre objetivos clave, estrategias, e ideas en torno a siete temas diferentes. La segunda reunión clasificó y refinó esos objetivos, estrategias e ideas.

En la tercera reunión se agruparon y se asignó la prioridad a todos los aportes en tres valores clave: Enriquecer la Experiencia del Estudiante, Administrar Nuestros Recursos y Cultivar Asociaciones con la Comunidad. En la última reunión, los grupos pequeños tuvieron la oportunidad de revisar un borrador del plan estratégico, en el que se incluía los objetivos, una explicación para cada objetivo y estrategias para alcanzar esos objetivos. Los comentarios de esos grupos se utilizarán para modificar y ajustar el borrador, que se presentará a la Junta Directiva Escolar para su modificación y adopción.
