COA has two different options for your student's success!

After the district surveyed Newberg families it was determined parents are looking for some education enhancements for their students.  Well, we heard you and that is exactly what we are doing!

Traditional COA (aka Full Time COA) is one of the alternatives to in-person learning. In Traditional COA, students are self-directed to work through online curriculum at their own pace. They do not join teachers or classes regularly online, but have a variety of supports by licensed teachers, tutoring options, and a stipend for elective activities.

COA and Neighborhood School Classes (Hybrid) combines the self-directed learning of COA with a variety of options for in-person instruction at a local, neighborhood school, dependent upon class sizes and availability at the neighborhood school. COA staff can work with students and families to customize a variety of options that best meet the needs of their students.

In-Person and Online classes are offered several times throughout the year by licensed teachers for intervention and enrichment purposes. These are optional opportunities.

COA PROVIDES FLEXIBILITY TO STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES
The combination of online learning and learning from home is a perfect program that blends online instruction and regular contact with highly qualified teachers while parents maintain a leadership role in their child’s education.

PROGRAM FEATURES:

  • Tuition free online K-12 education. Text books and curriculum materials provided at no cost.  Parents select from a menu of approved curriculum providers for grades K-5. Chrome book provided for free to students.

  • $1000 stipend per year per student available for supplementary educational experiences and extracurricular activities like art, dance, horseback riding, martial arts, music and much more!

  • Individualized, high quality, and challenging learning for each student through Personalized Education Plans for each student created collaboratively with students and parents.

  • Flexible options for curriculum, courses, electives, schedules, and pacing to meet the unique needs of students.

  • Access to optional, weekly class time and responsive, local tutoring — either virtually or in person* — with our licensed, highly-qualified teachers.

  • Numerous, inclusive opportunities throughout the year to connect you and your students with a supportive community through field trips, celebrations, and other activities.*

  • Partners with brick and mortar schools — for Newberg students — local residents still have access for hybrid schedule while doing classes at physical school.
